Per chi ha letto le altre non numerose opere di Dan Brown non ci saranno sorprese. Il libro è affidabile e fa apparire quasi scontate le tonnellate di ore di ricerca su informazioni, dati e luoghi che Brown raccoglie prima e durante la stesura delle sue opere. Forse solo un altro grande scrittore era così documentato: Michael Crichton, seppure per opere che avevano un taglio meno “esoterico”. Il libro si fa leggere e non vi deluderà. Vi accompagnerà per alcune ore e molti degli spunti saranno fonte di discussione e confronto, soprattutto in questo periodo di forti tensioni per gli aspetti religiosi della vita.

Guardandomi bene dallo svelare dettagli della storia, mi sento di dire che la prima parte mi è piaciuta più della seconda. La trama è avvincente, e leggendolo sembra già di vedere le scene del film che (sicuramente) ne sarà tratto, ma una volta letta l’ultima pagina se ne va come acqua fresca. Resta poco. Comunque l’ho letto tutto d’un fiato e mi ha fatto compagnia durante diversi voli aerei.

It is an enthralling novel, but not a work of art as the Da Vinci code was. With a minor spoiling, I would say that “the discovery”, which is presentented as a breakthrough, is a little disappointing. The plot is complex and interesting.

Avendolo già in italiano per il Kindle, ho deciso di comprare il cartaceo in inglese, e fortunatamente ho trovato quest’edizione della Corgi molto bella; solo le pagine sono un po’ spiegazzate e ruvide al tatto, come se il libro fosse rimasto per troppo tempo chiuso in un posto umido… ma questi sono dettagli. Purtroppo i libri in lingua straniera peccano spesso di bassa qualità, ma questa volta posso ritenermi soddisfatta. Lo consiglio.

The quality of the paper is bad, but I noticed this is the case with most English editions.. I am probably used to the good quality of the Italian editors. As for the story itself it’s really great, Dan Brown as usual is able to take the reader to the adventures with the characters, and it is possible to lean new things, in this case artwork and buildings..I couldn’t put the book down, it is really engaging.

I’ve read all Langdon’s books, this is an happy return to the intriguing plots of the first two. In some parts, especially in the first hundred pages, it is a bit too much descriptive and the reader risks to loose interest. After the half part of the book, it becomes really fascinating and you find it difficult to stop reading.
